concept: it is a rainy, autumn day and i’m spending it indoors with my family. the fireplace is lit. autumn treats are being baked and the scent of them fill the home. on the tv are my favorite halloween films. autumn scented candles are lit around the home. i’m sitting on the couch wrapped up in a cozy throw with my dog on my lap. i feel warm, inside and out.
I have my window open, it’s raining and the autumn breeze is trailing right into my bedroom … it’s dark outside as well as in my room. The house smells strongly of coffee, and the rain pitter patters and rumbles of thunder threaten to make themselves known … my record player spins softly to Bon Iver … I am happy on this rainy Sunday morning. 🌧🍂
I sold my soul to the Autumn trees,
To the quiet woods and the chilly breeze
I yearn for the rain and a good book or two
Hot tea and a Sunday that I can sleep through
No longer need Winters, nor Springs or those Summers
I have fallen in love with all these Fall colours
I think what it is about Autumn that we all love so much is the comfort that it brings - I find solace in sitting by the window on brisk October days, wearing a knit sweater, watching the leaves fall, and warming my hands with a coffee mug.
